Light by Star was born from the union of light, legacy, and self-discovery.

Founded by Deborah, a creative visionary, photographer, and former athlete & trainer.

“Light” represents truth, clarity, and divine illumination. “Star” the source of light;

radiant, independent, and guided by purpose.

Light by Star is both a metaphor for how a photograph is created, and a reflection of Deborah herself; a journey of transformation, awareness, and expression through vision.

Hi, I’m Deborah - the eye behind the lens.

A self-taught photographer, born and raised in the UK, my love for photography began in childhood with a simple camera and a deep curiosity for capturing the beauty of nature.

That passion evolved into documenting the raw, unfiltered energy of sport, particularly boxing, capturing athletes in their most focused, vulnerable, and powerful moments behind the scenes. This taught me how to read emotion, timing, and presence.

After spending over a year reconnecting with my roots in Jamaica, I felt called to slow down and deepen my storytelling. Surrounded by nature, culture, and connection, I was drawn toward capturing love in its most natural form

I am now stepping into the world of couples and intimate wedding photography, documenting real connection, genuine emotion and the unique story between two people.

As I continue to grow within this space, I offer accessible pricing to reflect this stage of my journey.
